Overview: If you notice your engine misfires, doesn't start, shakes, stalls or has excessive or unusual noises these are all possible signs of a bad distributor cap.

Overtime the little contacts inside the cap wear down. Also if you live in a cold area the rapid heating up process of going from cold to hot can crack the cap itself.

From our experience the genuine caps are very good, don't often crack like some of the aftermarket caps we have seen and mainly only need changing as maintenance after extended use.

Most sellers/vendors we see selling MR2 distributor caps are either selling aftermarket or non-specific part number caps, whilst still available we recommend the genuine part.
